50 years of business for Comas

Comas celebrates its first 50 years of activity in the tobacco industry as the world leading supplier of primary equipment and processing solutions. 

Since 1971, the year of its foundation by Mario Martin, Giuseppe Zanini and Sergio Bonan, Comas takes its first steps in the GLT and Primary market, progressively expanding its business across Italy, Europe and Worldwide, becoming an innovation leader with the Steam Jacketed Rotary Dryer and the first generation of Flash Tower Dryer in the 90’s.

Going through the innovation, in the early 2000s, with the introduction of the Lamina&Stem cutters and having expanded its machinery portfolio in the previous years, the range of equipment is now able to cover the full Primary line.

Thanks to the emerging growth of the New Generation Products, Comas reveals its constant ability to adapt to innovation, developing the best tobacco processing plants and equipment for HNB products, as well as liquid based e-cigs, Snus and White Snus products. 

Recently, in 2018, Comas Tobacco Machinery was acquired by Coesia and joined the Tobacco business, headed by G.D and already composed by Sasib, Molins and Cerulean, merging a complete portfolio of solutions able to meet the wide range of customers needs.

Reaching this important milestone means for the company, not only having consolidated its position as market leader, but also having solid foundations for the next future steps in a constantly evolving business.
