COMAS, was founded by Mario Martin, Giuseppe Zanini and Sergio Bonan in Silea (Treviso).
The Company gained big market shares on GLT and Primary segments, across Italy and Europe.
COMAS becomes an innovation leader with the introduction of the Steam Jacketed Rotary Dryer and the first generation of Flash Tower Dryer
COMAS expands its machinery portfolio with the introduction of the innovative mechanical vertical and horizontal slicer and the Casing & Flavouring Kitchen.
2000 - COMAS consolidates its range of equipment, now covering the full Primary line, with the introduction of the Lamina & Stem cutters, and the new generation of Flash Tower Dryers.
2001 – Comas Latino Americana, specialized in primary lines, traditional recon plants and GLT, was established in Santa Cruz do Sul (Brazil) to effectively respond to the specific needs of the local market.
2005 – Comas launched the first THT tobacco high temperature drying cylinder.
2008 – The third generation of Flash Tower dryer hit the market.
2014 - COMAS develops new advanced primary-process technologies for the food and cosmetic industries, expanding its portfolio and diversifying into strategic market sectors.
2016 - COMAS began developing primary technologies for Heat Not Burn (HNB) products and quickly became the first-choice supplier in this field. By combining deep know-how with a strong focus on innovation, the company has set new benchmarks in the Next Generation Products (NGP) segment, shaping the evolution of HNB technologies.
2018 - COMAS is acquired by G.D S.p.A. joining the Tobacco Division of the Coesia Group.
2020 – COMAS launched the New Recon (dough) line for NGP products.
2021 – COMAS celebrated its first 50 years of activity and success as a leading supplier of primary manufacturing lines and integrated solutions for the tobacco industry.
2022 – COMAS entered the energy storage systems market, launching the dryer for the electrode manufacturing.
2024- The complete and fully automated processing line for powder-based products was launched in the growing nicotine pouch market to meet individual customer needs.
In the same year, COMAS acquired the expertise and know-how of SAM Europe to strengthen its presence in the converting industry and further diversify its business opportunities and products portfolio.
